Stop, Hoodie time!

This is Hoodie Allen aka my new favorite artist I am listening to right now!  I actually discovered him through my friend, Tori and she said that he was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY!  I thought that was cool because we just got back from our NY trip (more pictures later!! ahhhh)! I really like and respect Hoodie because in his music he talks a lot about his family and his life growing up and to now.

Also, I think its kinda cool because he individually writes/records/replies to fans/goes on tour all by himself! He is not signed to any record deal because he doesn't want to lose sight of himself and get caught up in the fame of being a hip-hop artist.

I do suggest you listen to him only if you are into rap and hip-hop.  His music is different, but it is more similar to Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, and I'd say Kid Cudi as well. So if you are looking for some new music you should defiantly check him out! You can buy his songs on iTunes OR download it for free off of his official website that is here

Get ready for some posts on my trip to NY! I am probably going to break them up into many different posts cause there is so much to talk about on my trip to NY!!

New York, New York

Did I mention I am going to New York tomorrow?! I am so excited! I have been looking all over Pinterest and the Internet with Tori (who I'm going with) for weeks now.  We have tried to plan out our schedule daily on what we are going to do while we are there for 10 days!

Here are some things we are going to do:

Obviously we have to visit Times Square at nighttime.
We are wanting to go to a Broadway Show (I'm really into plays) & thinking about seeing Les Miserables or maybe even Matilda.

We are going to visit Central Park in New York City..because we feel like that's a must and we have to take a picture like Blair & Serena did on Gossip Girl-- I know we are obsessed.

See Grand Central Station

Visit Ground Zero & the new tallest building in NY.

Go to Little Tokyo & Little Italy

Tori is a huge NY Yankees fan so of course we are going to go to a game!

I just really want to go to a zoo and see some penguins.. lol

Go to the Rockefeller Center & see the big tree!

Lastly, go to Fire Island in Long Island to relax on the beach.

Hopefully we can get through at least half of these things! We are both so excited! More pictures to come soon!

Family Reunion in Kerrville, TX

This past weekend I went to my yearly family reunion! Every year each of my grandma's brothers and sisters switch off hosting our reunion in a new place (there were 7 brothers and sisters).  So basically these reunions consist of a lot of cousins and a lot of exploring new places. This year, we had our family reunion in a small town near Kerrville, TX.  Here are some of my pictures from our trip:
There were beautiful little daisies everywhereeeee (not used to seeing so many alive plants in Oklahoma)

The cute little cabin my family stayed in.. Our cabin was called Storybook & each room is set up like a different fairy tale.

The big kitchen in one of the cabins (huge & perfect)

The master bedroom

The Peter Cotton Tail room

The guest room in our cabin.

The Alice & Wonderland little kid room I slept in.. it was cute though at least.

We always seem to have big puzzles at family reunions.

Downtown shopping in Fredricksburg, TX.

Added the gold Queen's Crown to my Alex & Ani collection (I couldn't resist)

Mr. Tall Dark & Handsome (aka some random statue in Fredricksburg)

This carrot cake was to die for at a bakery we found in Fredricksburg (I want some now).

Canoeing on the river was too much fun!

Helping to make my great aunt's roasted potatoes w/garlic, pepper, and rosemary (sooo good).

In the underground tunnel leading down to the River.

I loved getting to spend time with my huge family, but I hate only being able to see them once a year.  Family reunions are a huge tradition in my family that have been going on for MANY years.  Cannot wait to see where we travel to next year!

My Latest Obsession

My everyday jewelry from Alex & Ani (bracelets) and James Avery (rings).

So as I mentioned in my last post, my friend and I both bought our first Alex and Ani bracelets and we are totally hooked.  Tori (my friend from NY) told me about these bracelets and said that they are huge in New York.  Visit the website and check them out here ! They are beautifullllll (& not too expensive).

When you buy a Alex and Ani bracelet it gives you a card that describes the purpose of the bracelet you purchased.  I like reading these for a little background info.  On the website, it gives the background of the company (check it out here).  All of their bangles are made individually in America and some of the money you spend on buying your bracelet is donated to Charity by Design.  This Charity by Design organization donates to non-profit organizations who strive to enhance the quality of lives on Earth.  So basically you get a cute bracelet and help other people too (win-win).

Like let's just take a moment to admire these babies:

Check out Alex & Ani on their website and/or creep on Pinterest to look for these cute bangles!
