Gettin' a little crafty

Hello friends! I hope everyone is having a good week! This past week (well two weeks) my roommates and I have been getting very crafty! We figured why not take a break from studying & life and do something fun!
Soo here are a couple of the crafts we have been working on/finished for initiation!

Some of mine and my roommates Mom/dot (big/little) crafts! I made the box for my dotter and mod-pogued it.  I forgot how much I enjoy mod poging (is that a word?)!

USA KAO letters that are so adorable.

Gotta go celebrate my friend's 21st b-day! I'll take some pictures of our fun night planned.

I'm so glad I live in a world with Octobers

October is here! (It has been for a little while I know) October, November, and December are probably my favorite months because of the weather, the holidays and time relaxing and with the family. I feel everyone is getting into the spirit of fall!
In front of my sorority house the gardeners put out new flowers and pumpkins- they look so good with our cozy brick house.
A couple of girls carved some pumpkins the other night and I just had to take a picture. I love the way our house looks in the fall.
P.s. These photos are all featuring Claire-she really wanted to make my blog she said. Lol
Yesterday, I drove down to see my sister and we decided to go pumpkin picking at a pumpkin patch in Norman. It was so cute seeing all of the little kids so excited to get their own pumpkins.
My sister and I posing by a hay barrel made to look like a pumpkin. So cute
So many to choose from! We ended up buying thee mini pumpkins (so I could put them in my room) and one big pumpkin we plan to carve today!

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful October.

Sick as a dog

Hello again! Wow I can't believe it's been so long since I've lasted posted. My life has been hectic, to say the least.
Currently I am writing to you as I'm sick in bed. I went to the doctor today (waited 4 hours) and found out I have some type of virus. Soooo since I'm supposed to be resting, I feel like this is a good time to blog!

Here's what I have been up to lately:
A couple weeks ago we had Dad's day and was so happy that my dad could come! (Hi dad I know you're reading!) Thankful that he puts up with coming to my sorority events when it's def not his first thing he'd like to do on his agenda for the day. Love you dad.
Here's another part of my last three weeks! Pomping! Yay! Oklahoma State has the BEST homecoming celebration. To say that we go big in celebrating it is an understatement.
My sorority recently had a date party titled "dress like a sailor, play like a pirate"
Here is my showing off my best pirate impression (my hook arm/finger). My pirate costume consisted of a pleather skirt I borrowed from a friend, a scary skelton face shirt I cut and tied, a borrowed American flag bandana (pirates like the USA right?), and my white high top converse--which is all the new thing for pirates these days (lol).
My sweet dΘtter Kelsey! In my sorority we do mΘm/dΘt instead of big/little. And now that I am a sophomore, I got my little dotter! We had a big reveal this night where we bought a pair of socks and hid them around the house and our little had to go find them and put them on. After she put them on and came outside, she looked for a sock that matched hers like so:
We had a big curtain up between us both and then when it was time we dropped the curtain and did our reveal! So much fun.
I'll blog more soon from our reveal and kite flight!

Well now Im getting really tired and my head feels like it got hit by a car--soo I will have to check in more another time!

Sorry about my absence, but Ill be back soon after homecoming settles down!

Thank you!
Your cough-drop popping sick girl,

Hi I'm still here

Wow it has been so long since I have blogged and I hate that. Let me tell you, starting back to school has made me a busy busy bee. With 10 hours of pomping a week, working and junior level college courses, it has been tough my friends. (Currently blogging from work while kids are napping) But here is a little update on what's been going on in my world:
I recently bought this underarmor work out top and I love it! I got it at Acadamy on sale for I think $14 (wow) they were having a big sale that week and I just wanted to go crazy in there.
Also, I've been trying to keep up with my work out schedule by taking a few TRX classes, kickboxing, and just hittin the elipitcal &/or treadmill. (I need to more tho)
Who doesn't love a good pizza with friends while watching the sun go down? God is so good.
This past weekend my old roomie and I made a trip down to Plano, TX to watch her nephew play football-- and we had to stop at Sprinkles Cupcakes. This cupcake was chocolate covered marshmallow (tasted like a gourmet Ho Ho lol) it was awesome.
Ya so I bought my first OSU shirt two days ago... So embarrassing lol now I want to wear it 24/7
Me and some friends grabbing gelato as a quick study break motivation (sometimes you just have to.. Am I right?)

I appreciate everyone who reads my blog posts and tells me about it. Y'all truely make my day. Thank you!

Your blogger friend that will be back soon (I promise),

Road Trips are Necessary..right?

Last weekend my friends and I woke up on a Saturday morning and randomly decided to go to OKC and to do some spur of the moment things. Here's what we did on our little day trip:
The first thing we did was head over to 24th Street Piercings and got our ears pierced.. Yes I know we were feeling very outrageous today. All of them got their cartridge pierced, but I ended up just getting a second hole next to my first one.
Here's how mine turned out-- I really love how small and simple it is.
While we were getting our piercings all done together, the guy (who was covered from head to toe in tattoos) said "well at least you aren't getting tattoos" haha we thought that was so funny. But yes at least we weren't being that crazy.

After our little piercing session, we headed over to "The Wedge Pizzeria." This place was awesome. It had a great view of downtown okc as well!

We started our meal out with the garlic cheesy bread. We were so hungry and finished it all. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of our pizza, but we ordered one plain cheese pizza and one with feta cheese, chicken, spinach, and mushrooms. They were both amazing. The crust is the perfect in between thin and regular crust.

And for dessert we had some fabulous dark chocolate chip gelato. They had so many different flavors but I had to go with my all time favorite.

We then roamed about the downtown area and found some interesting little places, like this record/cd store. My friends and I are big fans of classic rock (thanks dad) and so we picked up a few things. I called my dad immediately and started searching for some of his favorite CDs and was mostly successful! They were so inexpensive too (always a plus for a college girl)

While roaming around downtown we came across numerous yard sales/thrift stores. It was so cool to look around at all of the old fashion things! (My friend actually ended up buying a guitar that was in great condition that we played on the way home from the city!)

After our long day, we headed back to Stillwater, but not for long-- later that night me and two other friends headed to  good ole Ponca City to get some snacks!
I had heard all about the famous "Dixie Dog" we just had to try it. We got a Dixie dogs and shared some pickle-os, Mac and cheese bites, and cheesy potato bites with the girls (we're in college right?!) it was so good!! We decided we were going to have to make another trip soon!

I don't know if you can really see me ok this picture, but i had to climb up and take a picture with this statue! This is the Pioneer Woman statue in Ponca!

This weekend is a long weekend for Labor Day and I'm hoping to get some more blogging time in, so check back later!
Your adventurous (as of this year) blogger,

Life update

Hiiiii! I hope everybody had a good Monday & a good first day back at school for all you college kids! Here's a little bit of what's been going on for me lately:

Some of my sweet friends and I! This last two weeks have been packed but we finally finished with recruitment and got some awesome baby thetas!

Here we all are waiting for our new pledge class to run to us!

One of the sweet new thetas that I got to hang out with! We now have this confetti still covering our front lawn (sorry gardners)
Not really something that huge in life--but it was big for me! I finally purchased the Naked 2 palette. I have been saying for at least a year now how much I wanted this palette and how much I would use it. Soooo I finally did it!
I started back at our gym at my college.. I'm trying to get back on a good workout routine I had before. As much as I dread going to the gym sometimes I always feel so much better when I do.  Side note: I got this new workout shirt and was so excited to wear it. Gap has SUCH awesome workout appeal! I'll probably do another blog about some of my favs.

And last but not least-- this last Sunday I decided to become a Switch leader at my church in Stillwater! Switch leaders are basically small group leaders that help teach bible studies with middle school and high school aged teens! I will most likely be paired with 8th grade girls and I will attend the worship services with them every Wednesday night and do small bible studies/lessons.  I am SO excited.  I have never really worked with middle school-aged teens before (I'm more used to like 1-5 year olds..lol), but I feel like it will be a good challenge for me to take part in!

I feel like it is going to be a great school year!
Your overly happy-go-lucky blogger,

So much love for you, Theta

It's crazy to think it has been one whole year since I choose Kappa Alpha Theta to be my new home.  These last two weeks have made me fall in love with my sorority all over again.  I can see how much I've been changed for the better by being apart of such a wonderful sisterhood.  These girls have always lifted me up and encouraged me to be a better woman.  Seeing how amazing all of the girls are in our chapter makes me want to strive to be the best version of myself whether that is through working hard in my classes or creating a stronger relationship with the Lord.

I know I was placed in this chapter for a reason.  It was all in God's plan for me to meet such incredible women.  And I cannot thank Him enough.
Throughout this week I was asked "Why did you choose Theta?" about one hundred times I was asked and I answered back one hundred times that this was my favorite question to answer.
I choose Theta because I saw through the conversations I had with the girls what genuine people they really are.  I saw true character in every one of them--not just a "sweet girl" I talked to.  I walked in the house feeling at ease and comfortable.  And most of all, I felt like a person they actually cared about.  They wanted to get to know me, they wanted to know my true passions and my beliefs. Theta was the only house I felt comfortable talking about my faith, which is one of the most important things to me in my entire life.

And I just KNEW this was the place I wanted to spend my next 3 years.  And wow.  What a year it has been with these girls.  Now that I am actually living in the house I am so very excited for what this next year has in store for me.  As one of the senior Thetas said in her farewell speech, "I think there is something that should be said for a place that you hate to say goodbye to and anxiously await to get back to.."

So here's to two more years Kappa Alpha Theta.
Your ever so sappy Theta lover,
