My prayer journal

As I showed in my favorites blog, I had gotten three cute journals from Target recently and decided to make them my prayer journal. What is a prayer journal you ask? Well it's kind of anything you really want it to be-- a list of people you want to prayer for, full prayers, bible verses..etc. I had heard about people keeping prayer journals as a way of staying accountable and staying connected with God. Keeping a prayer journal, I feel, is pretty much your rawest feelings and prayers you have for God.. Or any other things you feel you should share with Him.  Last year was not a very productive spiritual year for me; other than discovering my newest college church home. (Yay!) with that being said, I am going to keep my prayer journal and write in it everyday. I do the Upper Room daily devotionals and the Jesus Calling devotionals. (Highly recommend the Jesus Calling devos) so here is my finished prayer journal:
I wrote this out one of my pages in my journal-- since it is MY journal and my way of prayer, I decided to incorporate some cute doodles and color with my verses as well! Hope you guys make your own prayer journals!

Your prayer journal pal (I know that's cheesy I couldn't think of anything lol)

Moving into my Sorority!

I'm back in Stillwater for a little while before school starts on the 18th.  I had to move back in three weeks early for work week and sorority recruitment!  Moving into the house was crazy with girls lugging up their millions of boxes all up our three flights of stairs.  This is my first time living in the sorority house, so I was not much of an expert packer! buttttt here are a couple pictures of my new home for the next year! No more community style dorm life yesssssss!
Here is my huge closet! I packed very lightly and didn't buy all my organizational things yet, but expect to see a before and after picture!

Again with the not being so prepared thing, here is my bed in my room-- I will add cute pillows and a duvet cover soon!! I live in a 4 girl room so I didn't want to bring too much yet!
After the first morning waking up in the house, I did Insanity with a group of girls and hurried out to get my ultimate favorite green tea ever and this tasty oatmeal! oh how I have missed Panera.  Like I am such a Starbucks fan (aka Gold Card Member) but the green tea from Panera is so much better!
My view pretty much for the next 7 days.. work week is in full force.
I thought this was the cutest thing.  One of my roomates painted this and its hanging up in the middle of our room.  She said she got inspiration from Katie Daisy (which I never knew about until now. LOVE her work)

More to come soon!

These are a few of my favorite things

Here are a few of my random July favorites!

I was searching everywhere for a simple necklace.  I found this small necklace at Forever 21 for only $1.80!! I was so excited.

Who doesn't love Essie nail polish? I can definitely say it is my favorite nail polish brand--I love the bright colors and the cute names they give the polish! (hence my Blog name) These two are my summer favorites; Liliacism and Bikini So Teeny!
I just purchased these cute sheets at Target for whenever I move into my sorority house.  I actually bought a light blue sheet set last fall and fell in love. Sooo I had to get another set of them! They are the softest and most coziest things ever.
I just bought these 3 journal sets at Target today.  I had been trying to find a small cute journal for my prayer journal.  I have been thinking about creating one for the longest time and finally found the right journals I wanted.  I will share another post about this later on when I start filling them with verses!
Okay, so I was kind of skeptical about trying this new lip balm because of the waxy feel that I get whenever I use Vaseline, butttttt I used this and I love it!! My mom bought it at Walgreens and I will now have to go get one for myself.  It smells more like coconut to me (which I like) but it works like a dream and makes my lips super soft.
So this isn't really a favorite "thing" but I recently have become obsessed with Youtube videos.  I can literally sit and watch them all day long. Anyway, I found this Youtube channel and love her videos! Her name is Nikki Phillipi and she makes tons of different kinds of videos about her everyday routines, recent buys, etc.  I highly suggest you check her out and subscribe to her on Youtube!

New York City-- Wicked, Canal Street, & Dylan's Candy Store

Here it is my friends, Good Ole' New York City.. well at least one part of it.  I am really proud of this panorama.

Canal Street--

The first time we traveled into the city, we walked right into Canal Street.  Now, I did not really know what to expect from Canal Street, but from what Tori's dad told us "expect people to be bombarding you with 'we have purses, watches, shoes, anything for yous'" Which was what exactly it was.  People were scattered all over the street like, ALLL over, trying to sell their illegal purses, watches, etc.  So I decided to try out this whole haggling for prices and look what I was able to buy..

Okay, so I am a very cheap person anyone who really knows me knows that.  I was skeptical of the buying things illegally thing at first, but then after I only spent $25 on my Tory Burch purse and $20 on my Michael Kors, I was giddy to continue shopping.  Unfortunately, I had to save my money so I only ended up buying these two from Canal Street.. but hey I am not complaining. I love them.

"Wicked" The Musical--

This was the only picture I could get of the set and the musical, but I LOVED "Wicked".  Honestly, my #1 suggestion for those of you wanting to visit NY one day, You HAVE to go to a Broadway Show.  Yes, the tickets are so expensive, but if you buy them early the cheaper they are more likely to be.  Let me tell you, Tori and I spend a long time trying to decide what musical to go to (either Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, or some other random) but I am so glad we went and saw "Wicked".

Lastly, while we drove through West Hamptons (no big deal there was highhhh class cars just crusin' everywhere) we stopped in to an actual Alex and Ani store! It was huge and I could have spent all day in here but finally I decided on buying this cute NYC bangle! As you can tell I just love Alex and Ani jewelry!

As I said, this was my last post about my trip to New York! I had so much fun.  I really think everyone should experience New York City at some point in their life.  It's really eye opening experience and makes your realize how small your problems really are when there is so much more out there in the world!

Your traveling guru,

Changes

As you can see my blog is looking very different from what it used to be.. I am trying to find my true
blogger" place and what I feel comfortable writting (does that make sense?).  I know you see a lot of blogs on the internet that are very specific about food or home renovation, etc... But, I am trying to do things a little bit different.  This being said, every once in awhile I might change things around on my blog.  I think of new things do blog about all the time but then overthink them and end up doing something else.

SOO we will see what I come up with next.

A little Kate Spade Appreciation

While everyone is really into Michael Kors, Tory Burch, etc.. I am currently obsessing over Kate Spade.  While in New York, I went to a Kate Spade store and fell in love.  Like lets just take a minute to enjoy her creations-- (as you can see I am really wanting a Kate Spade watch)

Kate Spade is such a classy look to me that I would like to bring into my everyday style.  I just love how simple and cute they are.

Fire Island, New York

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July weekend! Here's a little post from my trip to Fire Island, NY.  On the 4th, I found myself wishing I was back on this beautiful beach to watch fire works!

During our trip in New York, we hopped on a ferry and traveled out to Fire Island. aka the perfect little island with just beach and cute stores to shop at.
In this little town, Ocean Beach, there were no cars.  It was peaceful to just enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and of course shop.
Enjoying the beach. I also got such a bad sunburn as you can kind of see in this picture. They don't call it Fire Island for nothing.
Tori and I.  After this picture she pushed me into the freezing cold water as a huge wave was coming up.. thanks Tori
Ending the day with some yummy Carvel.  Carvel has the BEST soft-serve ice cream it's so creamy it has a almost butter like texture. wow I am definitely missing that.

Yankee Fan

One of the things that I got to experience while I was in New York was going to a Yankee game.  And wow was it an experience.

Here is the outside of the New Yankee Stadium--it looks fairly small in this picture but it is huge!

Perfect weather & beautiful evening for some baseball.

Had to experience "the NY Yankees hot dog" & it was the best hot dog I have ever eaten.

From home plate-- had to sneak past a security guy to snap this picture.. you're welcome lol

Just hanging out at the stadium.

All of the balls signed by every player that had been a Yankee.. even Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle, and Babe Ruth. wow.

The coolest Yankee History Museum--here are the Yankee owners' rings
Quote from the owner George Steinbrenner--thought this was sweet

Tori is the biggest Yankee fan ever and couldn't resist this Alex and Ani NY Yankees bangle.. I wanted it so bad but saved my money for a different one.

My one shot at fame in the fake locker room.

Last but not least, my new favorite player (wasn't much of a pro baseball lover until now) .. too bad it's his last season to play.. you are amazing Jeter.

The new Yankee fan,
